It is fast like a BUNN, but brews in a way that gets the best taste out of the coffee bean. I am not a coffee snob, but I do like a good, fast cup of coffee. The thermal carafe is a huge plus and keeps the coffee hot enough for me for about 3 hours. I also use the filters recommended for this maker, and I suggest that you use them as well as there is no scale buildup from using tap water to brew. Treat yourself, you'll be glad you did!
